The title comes from the sources for this painting (not computer aided): Crater Lake, Oregon and Schroeter’s Valley on the moon which the artist spent two years modeling in the years 1971-1973. The relief-contour method he developed for lunar maps has been applied here for the first time to a hexagon matrix. |
