" In the name of God amen, I Daniel Delap of the county of Rowan in the
State of Carolina, being of soudn mind and memory do make and ordain this my
last will and testament in manner and form following: (viz) First I give and
bequeath to my Beloved Wife Nancy Delapp my homestead Plantation whereon I now
live during her life, withouth hinderence or molestation of any person Whatsoever
- also one horse or mare her choice of my horses also her saddle and bridle as
also two milk cows, as also two beds bedsteads & furniture, with as much
of the household & kitchen furniture as will be sufficient for her to keep
house wich, I also give to my said wife Nancy my negro woman Suck during her
natural life, It is also my will that my executor hereafter named shall funish
my said wife with sufficient provisions for herself and said negro for one year
after my decease in manner they formerly lived --- Item the second I give and
bequeath to my Daughter Nancy Delapp, my Son John Delapp, my Daughter Jane Delapp,
my Daughter Susannah Delapp and my Son Robert Delapp one dollar each besides
what I have given them already and no more --- Item 3 I give to my grandson Daniel
Delapp son of William Delapp one hundred dollars ---Item 4 I give to my granson
John Delapp son of Daniel delapp one hundred dollars Item 5 I give to my granson
Daniel Delap, son of Hugh Delapp one hundred Dollars, Item the Sixth I give to
my grandson Joseph Masten on Hundred Dollars---Item it is then my will that ll
the rest of my estate should be sold by my executor at Publick Sale - and the
moneys and the moneys arising from that sale to be equally divided between my
five youngest Children (to wit) Willie Delapp, Danel Delapp, Thomas Delapp, Hugh
Delapp & Abigail Messten. I do hereby constitute ordain and appoint my Son
in Law Mathias Massten exector of this my last will and testament 00 sighned
Sealed published & prnounced by one said Daniel Delapp as his last will and
testament in the presence of us who was present at the signing of same, this
17 day of March 1821 Test: Jn Monroe, John Charles" and then Signed with
