after 1765. Living in Rome, Oneida Co., NY 1800 with 2 females b 1755-1774,
1 female b 1774-1784 and 2 females b 1784-1800.. Settled in Scipio, Cayuga
Co., NY 1810. Robert , wife Ruth and a Anna Delup (Robt.'s mother?) and the children:
Anna, Robert, Joseph, Ruth Jonathan, George, Margaret. Elijah, and Timothy were
warned out of Rockingham, VT on 10 Mar 1787. Robert* DELAP and Ruth* DEANE were
married on 10 Oct 1765 in Willmington, Middlesex Co., MA.1041,1042 Another

Jonathan Delap in Oneida Co. in 1820 census. Moved to Oswego Co., WI as early
as 1844. In Elkhorn, Walworth Co., WI in 1850 census. Jonathan had at least
2 more daughters in the censuses in NY, but I have been unable to find who they

"Death of Elijah De Lap.
Elijah De Lap was born in the town of Weston, Oneida County, N.Y., May 11 1804.
He came to Walworth Co. this state (W() in 1844, where he resdied 11 years.
He came to Baraboo in 1856 where he has since lived. When a young man he followed
the trade of a ship carpenter, but during his residence in the west worked as
a carpenter and joiner. His wife who died in 1864, was a sister of the Maxhams
of North Freedom.
Mr. Delap leaves four children, two sons and two daughters: Mrs. Geo. Claus
of this city, Mrs. C. H. Babcodk, of Shelby, Neb., and Russell and Holland, who
reside in Baraboo. He made his home with the last named son. The cause of his
death was consumption. Deceased was a republican in politics. He remembered
many of the incidents of the war of 1812. he was a remarkably healthy man, being
quite free from the diseases that afflict mankind. The funeral was held at the
residence Wednesday, the 14th inst. at one p. m., Rev. T. J. Snodgrass officiating.
Mr. Delap had many friends adn was highly esteemed by all who knew him."
Patent on 40 acres: NW 1/4 of NE 1/4 of Sec 34 in T3N R16E, 1 Sep 1848 (Assignee
of Livius Brown) in Walworth Co., WI. An Elijah De Lap got a patent on 80 acres
for the W 1/2 of the SE 1/4 of Sec 1 in T6N R5W, for 80 acres on 10 Nov 1855
and another 80 acres: the S 1/2 of the NE 1/4 of that section on 1 Jun 1858,
in Crawford or Brown Co., WI |
