the Landdag (county assembly). Spent entire life at village of Minnertsga and family estate Jelgersma, a few miles NE of the Port of Harlingen in Province of Friesland: "lying between the Crossing and the Great Lammerma." Ownership of Jelgersma entitled Luuesz to a vote in the Landdag or Laaddag, the County Assembly. This became the legislative assembly of the Dutch Republic about 1588. Epke probably was a descendant of the Saxon nobility. He was wealthy and
influential. Name also given as Epcke Luvesc.

Spelling by Joan England Murray: Luvesc. Epke spent his entire life in the village of Minnertsga, Friesland, the Netherlands and the family estate, Jelgersma, nearby. Epke had a right to vote in the Landdag, the county assembly. Jelgersma was a few miles northeast of the port of Harlingen. Epke was probably, a descendent of Saxon Nobility. About 1630, after her husbands death, she bought aditional property at Minnertsga from Mederichter (a Judge) of Barradeel Dirck, Ryacksz Hanis and Aechte Cornelisdr, his wife. (sister of Sil Cornelisdr?), leaving the running of the farm to her son, Cornelius. Children were:
