on 10 Aug 1858 in Bad Ax Co., WI. Deeded the SW 1/4 of the NE 1/4 and the SE
1/4 of the NW 1/4 in T12N R6W of sect 22 to Jesse Warner in Bad Ax (Vernon) Co.,
WI on 12 May 1859. This was witnessed by S. P. De Lap (his brother and Justice
of the Peace) and Anne E. Lamb (his half brother's wife) and signed by both Hiram
and Lucinda De Lap. These parcels were just one section away from Hiram's father's
holdings in 1858.
In Sterling town, Bad Ax Co. in 1860. Moved to Tomah, Monroe Co., WI for a
time about 1869 but returned to Vernon Co. Listed in 1870 federal census in

On 30 Jul 1901, his stepmother, Achsah deeded the 100 acres to him that her husband
Hiram had deeded to her ten years before, being the W 1/2 of the NW 1/4 and the
W 1/2 of the SE 1/4 of the NW 1/4 of Section 11, T7W, R4W, in Polk Co., OR.
On 18 Mar 1906, G. C. and Sarah M. Smith deeded to Josiah for $100., ten acres
of land in Section 10, T7S R4W adjacent to land already held by him in Polk Co.,
OR, near Oak Grove.
On 2 Jan 1912, L. D. and Leta W. Brown sold for $150, ten acres of land to him:
the E 1/2 of the SE 1/4 of the NE 1/4 of Section 10, T7S, R4W., in Polk Co.,
OR, near Oak Grove.
On 22 Oct 1940, for $155.55 Josiah and Susan conveyed an easement to the U. S.
amounting to a length of 2851.41 feet long, containing about 6.5 acres for an
electrical power line.
On 25 Mar 1942, Josiah and Susan sold their holdings near Oak Grove, Polk Co.,
OR to W. E. Knower, being 100 acres : W 1/2 of SE 1/4 of NW 1/4 Section 11, T7S,
R4W, deeded to him by his mother in 1901, and 10 acres: in Section 10, T7S, R4W,
and another 10 acres: the E 1/2 of the E 1/2 of the SE 1/4 of the NE 1/4 of Section
10, T7S, R4W and another 40 acres in that section: the NE 1/4 of the NE 1/4,
totalling 160 acres but retaining the right to enter, use and occupy the land
for the remainder of their life. This W. E. Knower may have been the son of
Susan by an earlier marriage

his (grand) 'Uncle' Joe and being bit by a goose.
