at 248 Eleventh Street. Funeral conducted by Rev. H.K.Sanborne at the undertaker's
parlor at 11:00. He was buried on 5 Feb 1918 in Sunset View, Contra Costa Co.,

account and distribution was made by the Execrutix, daughter Della Smith on 3
Mar 1919 in Superior Court. A native of Virginia, in an area (Mason and Putnam
Cos.) that later became West Virginia.
On 10 Dec 1859 he was deeded the NW quarter of sec 2 T41, R24, containing 100
acres for $700 by Daniel and Mrs ( Minerva?) Young in Henry Co., MO. This was
recorded the following July 10, 1860.
Listed as a farmer worth $800 in real estate and $378 in personal prop.on 7 June
1860 census in Springfield Township, MO, when he listed himself as 25 (?).
Wilmoth was listed as 24, John as 1, and Octavia as half a month old.
Arrived in Ashland, OR, by wagon train in fall of 1861 with wife and two children,
when he was 26. He didn't want to fight against the South in the Civil War.
Later, after R. E. Lee Farrar birth of 1863 they apparently removed to Yreka,
Humbolt Co., CA where he attempted to start a Baptist Church..
Listed as a quartz miner in the 1870 census in Grass Valley, Nevada Co., CA,,
when he was 35. At that time the Empire Mine was in full operation there. Floyd
was awarded a U.S. land patent on 1 May 1884 for a homestead in Nevada Co. the
NE 1/4 of the NW 1/4 of sec 22 of T15N R8E.
Moved to Scotts Valley, Lake Co., CA. Listed as a Reverend and gardner in 1878
in Lake Co., CA in McKenney's district directory. Notes from The First Baptist
Church at Lakeport, CA, on Friday include: 'before the 2nd Sabbath in Sept 1878
The Clear Lake Baptist Association convened with this Church in camps in Scotts
valley Lake County during the session of this body Religious Services was also
had. Doors of the Church opened from time to time as circumstances required.
Brother F. Farrar presented a letter for himself, for his wife and Daughter
and they were received into the fellowhip of the Church."

Listed as a farmer in the 1880 census in Scotts Valley, Big Valley Township,
CA, at age 45. Married L. Hendricks and Emma M. Glines(?) on 13 Nov 1881, in
CA. Ordained Baptist minister. 8th minister at the First Baptist Church in Lakeport,
California.
The minutes of the First Baptist Church of Lakeport of 10 Jun 1882 contained:
"'after some deliberations, on motion of Brother Crawford a committee was
appointed consisting of Bro. De Lap to ascertain their present relation as to
other denomiations."
Remained in Scotts Valley until 1883, when he moved family to Klamath County,
OR. In the Lakeport Baptist Church minutes there are notes on letters for Floyd,
W. A. and M. O. Farrar written in February 1883.
Moved to Klamath Co., OR in the spring of 1884 and helped organize the Mt. Zion
Baptist Church in Olene and then Poe Valley with John Griffith and others. Later
this became the First Baptist Church of Klamath Falls. Obtained Homestead certificate
335 of 162.92 acres: on 11 Jan 1893: SW 1/4 of NW 1/4 and lot 4, Sect 4 and Lot
1, sect 5 and SW 1/4 of SW 1/4 of Section 38, T38S R10E. Purchased from J. Levi
and wife, J. Levi, Jr. and wife half interest in lots 1-8, Block 38, Klamath
Falls on 11 Apr 1893. This purchase was filed in Klamath (aka Linkville), OR
and in San Francisco, CA. Purchased from M. M. Clopton, half interest in Lots
3,4,5 and 6 in Block 38 of Klamath Falls for $600 on 7 Jul 1893.
He and wife Wilmuth sold his homestead ( cert.335) to his son Floyd V Farrar
on 17 May 1899.
Retired to Woodland CA. about 1905 at age 70. Still there on 20 Apr 1910 at
the time of the Census. his grand daughter Josephine Fuller was living with
him and his wife. She was 6 years old. Moved to Richmond CA, Sep 1910 with
his wife Wilmoth
Purchased lots 39 and 40 in Block 50 in Richmond, Contra Costa Co., CA on 24
May 1910, from Olaf and Hulda Erickson for $10. This was a portion of Lot 54
of the Final Partition of the San Pablo Rancho. Floyd was identified as being
of Woodland, Yolo Co., CA.
On 2 Mar 1914, Floyd sold lot 40 in Block 50 in Richmond for $275 to Charles
J. Crary and C. J. Shepherd Trustees for the Richmond Savings Bank of Richmond..
In the 1914-15 R.L.Polk- Richmond & Contra Costa County Directory Floyd
is listed residing at 248 11th Street with Wilmot A. His grandson, Loyd is listed
as Lloyd De Lap 'colr Western States Gas & Elec Co., in business at 343 9th
Street. His grandson True H. De Lap r is listed as De Lap & Horner at 448
7th Street.
His grandson Truman DeLap lived in El Cerito, adjacent to Richmond at this time..

Shot and injured by son Lee, by accident, while being robbed by someone else
in June 1876. Daughter Octavia took over household. Moved to Woodland, California
about 1905. Moved to Richmond, California about 1910. Her daughter, Martha
Octavia often, when tomatoes were served, commented that her mother considered
the fruit poisonous and kept the plants only for ornamental purposes. This was
remembered by Martha's daughter Ruth Marie and her grandson RJT. In 1893, at
the time of Theodore Banta's book, Willmoth lived with her husband in Linkville,
Klamath County, Oregon.
In the 1900 Census she is living alone in Klamath Falls, Klamath Co., OR at age
61. Possibly her husband was doing missionary work elsewhere. In the 1910
Census of Woodland Township, Yolo Co., CA her name is recorded as Wilma A. Children

Death certificate indicates that he died at 4:30 am. Wrong date given in CR/MO
De Lap bible of 1949. Cause of death given: Pneumonia due to subacute infective
bronchities and arterities Arteriosclerosis Influenza 9 Feb 1948. He had been
in the Suburban Rest Home for one month. He was buried on 26 Mar 1948 in Klamath
Falls, Klamath Co., OR.352
Linkville Cemetary, same plot as his nephew Charles DeLap, son of Octavia
and C.R.Delap. Cemetery record: Block 18 Plot 9 Lot 24. A gold miner in Arizona,
Nevada, Oregon, California. Never married. Broke his arm about 1920, nursed back
to health by his sister Octavia. 'Good looking Spanish type' according to Ruth
M. Turner, his neice. Photographs show him in a dark gully with another man where
they have been panning. Also other photgraphs whow him with a water gun on a
creek in deep woods.
In Liberty, Siskiyou Co., CA at the time of the 1900 census on 14 June. He was
single and a miner.
Living in Goldfield, Nevada in 1907.
Floyd sold 2 lots:25 & 26 on "Map of Richmond Home track" being
a portion of Lot number 54 of the Final partition pf the San Pablo Rancho in
Richmond, Contra Costa Co., CA, to Perry O. DeLap (nephew) in 1912, and that
Perry sold them the same day to a James J. Black of San Francisco. Floyd was
in Curry Co., OR, and Perry in Klamath Falls.
On 30 Oct 1915, his partner, W. E Keithly, worte a postcard to him from Coquille
OR indicating that he was leaving with a wagon for Merlin, OR to arrive on Tuesday.
He had left Bandon that morning with 'everything.' Living in Ashland, Oregon
in 1918, at the time of his father's death. A postcard addressed to him as 'Sir
and friend' in Farmington NM from a 'Silier' instructs him to have Silier's
mail forwarded to Empire, OR where he was going the next day. It is postmarked
Roseburg OR, 10 Feb 1924.
A snapshot shows him sitting on the stoop of a cabin, on the carcass of an adult
bear, who's head faces the camera proped up by a rock on the porch. Floyd has
on a dark shirt with suspenders and the shirt rolled up to reveal long underwear.
A wash tub is leaning up against the siding of the cabin. He has on a hat and
maintains a mustache. His boots are high enough to disappear under his pants.
He has a lanky build and does not look very large compared to the bear. No
date identifies the picture but his name is on the back.
Ruth DeLap Turner said that he didn't get along with his father well, that he
was somewhat spoiled, probably by his mother because he was the youngest.
Sold property to his nephew Chester H. De Lap and wife on 1 Oct 1941 in Jackson
Co., OR:
"Beginning at a point on the E side of Mt. Ave 430.9 ft N of the point where

there for 5 years, according to the death certificate, informed by his niece

newspaper reproduction of an 1895 photograph of school at Fort Klamath is notated
by Octavia DeLap that Wilmoth Farrar was teacher there in 1891. Another photograph
taken of her as a very young woman or teenager shows her with a huge hat loaded
with large flowers and a heavy overcoat with large buttons.
