between 1710 and 1730 in Granville City?, , NC.1310 He signed a will on 11 Dec 1780 in , Granville Co.,
NC.1311 "In the name
of God Amen. I, Roger Badget of the county of Granville & State of North
Carolina being in health of body & of perfect mind & sound memory, but
calling to mind that it is a (plan?) by the allmighty(sic) creator for all mortal
men once to die therefore I am willing that what it hath pleased God to bestow
on me as to my temporal good, I give & bequeath as followeth, & my soul
I recommend (sic) into my Saviors hand, who redeemed it with his precious Blood
& my body I recomend to the ground to be buried at the discresion (sic) of
my Executor hereafter named.
I promise & I give & bequeath unto my wife Elizabeth Badget during her
natural life, my land & plantation wheron I now live & after her death
I give the same to my Daughter Rachel Goss. I also give & bequeath to my
sd wife: one feather bed & furniture, three cows & calves, one mair (sic)
& saddle, fifteen hogs, one desk, three chairs, two wheales, one linen, one
woolen and giot & rack, one dish, three plates, two basons, one frying pan,
one table, one sifter, four sheep & fifty pounds of Virginia money, two pairs
of card, one box (of) Iron & pe(w)tor, one hachet (sic) to her.
Item: I give & bequeath to my two daughters, viz: Molley Badget and Rachel
Goss, all the remainder of my Estate of stock and household furniture to be equally
divided between them.
Except John Badget five shillings, Elizabeth Russil one shilling, Lucy one shilling
& my other sons five shillings apiece & lastly I do nominate and appoint
my two sons: John Badget & James Badget to be Executors to this my last will
& testament, dismissing and revoking all other formers wills by me made heretofore
in testamony hereat. I have ratifiyed this to be my last will and no other signed,
seal'd, published published, pronounced to be my last will this 8th of February
1780, and in presence of

Be it known to all men by these presents that I Rodger(sic) Badget of the county
of Granville & state of North Carolina have made & declaired my last
will & testament in writing bearing date the eight of february 1780, I the
sd Roger Badget by the present codicil do ratify & confirme my sd last will
and testament Except that I do by these presents remove & discharge my two
sons John & James Badget from being my Executor and do hereby Nominate &
appoint my son in law, Sherman Gos & Thomas Gos in their roome & stead
to be Executors to my sd will and my will & meaning is that this Codicil
be adjudged to be a part & parcel of my last will and testament & and
that all things therein mentioned & contained with this alteration be faithfully
& truly performed and as fully and apr(o)p(r)e(t)lly in Every respet as if
the same were so declaired and set down in my sd last will and testament witness
my hand this 11th day of december 1780 his

the codicil to the said Will Annex'd Was proved
by the Oath of James Langston, esq. which was
Ordered to be recorded. Then Shearmon
Goss & Thomas Goss qualified as exceutors
to the said Will
