He died on 17 Dec 1699 in Springfield, Hampden Co., MA.¹⁶⁵¹ Longmeadow Claimed to come from Sutton Cofield, Warwick, England. May have come on the ship Lion's Whelp. Settled first at Windsor, CT, then by 1644 at Springfield, Longmeadow, MA. Freeman 1665; grantee of Suffield 1670; quartermaster 1669. Settled at Masacksick, Longmeadow, Springfield, MA. Commissioned to lay out lots with Capt. John Pynchon, Benj. Cooley, Lt., Tos, Cooper, Rowland Thomas and Capt., Elizur Holyoke in 1677 in the now plantation of Suffield. On 20 Mar 1672, layed out bounds of Suffield with Lt., Cooper attended by Chas. Feury, Jos. Leonard, Sam., Hamon and Jos., Harmon. Representative in the General Court of MA in 1677. In 1722, 50 acres of land were laid out in Suffield in recognition of public services for Geo., Colton, deceased.
