He was buried in Apr 1840 in Speedwell, Madison Co., KY.966 He signed a will before 18 Apr 1840 in , Madison Co., KY.1017 "In the Name of God, Amen, I, Peter Todd of Kentucky, Madison County, being aged and infirmed of body, but of soudn mind and memory, thanks be to God for the same and calling to mind the uncertainty of this present life, think it fit to make this my last Will and Testament, in manner following, vis, First I give my soul to the hand of that faithful God that made me and hope redeemed me, and my body to buried. As for my beloved wife Hannah Todd, I think there is a sufficient in other writhings for her support, if she is the longer liver. For it is left in her hands as long as she lives, and at her death the property is divided equally among the heirs.l Share and share alike not looking at things from the sale of property and land also that is already sold. re, that shall fall in my eecutors hands and i do nominate and constitute and appoint William Todd, Sr. and William Todd, Jr. and Jreremiah Todd to be my executors of my last Will and Testament

Rev. Jesse B. TODD456,1018,1031,1032,1033,1034,1035,1036 was born on 1 Mar 1792 in , Rowan Co., NC.1036 He was Primitive Baptist between 1810 and 1867 in Vina Fork, , KY. He appeared in the census in 1840 in , Clinton Co., MO.1037 He died on 5 Jul 1867 in , DeKalb Co., MO. He was a school teacher. He was a Cooper. He was a farmer. He was a Baptist Minister. 'Ordained' 'unlearned in the subtleties of scholastic divinity.' 'preached with a fevor that influenced mnay of the early pioneers to abandon the careless life so prevalent upon the frontier..' 'succeeded in accumulating a comfortable competence in the worlds goods.' Moved with father to Madison Co., KY in 1797 locating near Speedwell. Religion: Primitive Baptist. United with Vina Fork Church in KY at adulthood. Removed to Howard Co., MO. Moved with wife and family to Callaway Co., MO in 1816/1817. In Howard Co., MO abt 1825. He was a teacher, justice of peace in Clinton, Co. and a coppersmith. A Jesse Todd appeared on the 1 Jan 1831 tax list in Howard Co., MO. In 1839 the family moved from Callaway County to DeKalb County with the Thorntons, DeShazers, Adams and others, settling in the Western part of Washington township in 1839. He helped start the Bethlehem Church in Clarksdale in Dec 1842 and became the first minister of any denomination in the county. He was ordained on 4 Aug 1845 in the Bethlehem Church and was pastor until 1865. Included on the 1845 Assessors's roll in that county. The church closed in 1867 with differences and conflicts as the result of the Civil War and this was coincident with his death. The Salem Church was organized a few years later. Jeremiah Todd's funeral was the last held in the church. The first school house in the county was erected on the corner of land belonging to Jesse Todd, W. M. Thornton, and W. M. Adams. It was erected in the 40's for school and church purposes and was used until 1854. These three men made entries in Twp. 57 R. 33 between 1836 and 1841 and were owners of real estate when the county was organized in 1845.

Obtained patent on 240 acres in De Kalb Co., MO on 1 May 1843: E 1/2 of SE 1/4 of sec 10, E 1/2 of NW 1/4 and W 1/2 of SW 1/4 of T57N R33W. Augmented on 1 Oct 1845 with 80 acres: W 1/2 of NE 1/4 Sec 11 T57N R33W. Another patent for 40 acres on 1 May 1846: SE 1/4 of SE 1/4 Sec 26 T59N, R33W, Patent for 80 acres on 1 Jun 1850: NW 1/4 of SW 1/4 and the SW 1/4 of NE 1/4 of sec 26 in T 58N R33W. Patent for 40 acres on 1 Dec 1851: NE 1/4 of SW 1/4 of sec 26, T58N R33W all in De Kalb Co., MO. This would total 480 acres.
