115842. King James* STEWART IV, of Scotland was born on 17 Mar 1473 in Edinburgh, Midlothian, Scotland.2746 He died on 9 Sep 1513 in Branxton, Northumberland, England.2746 Battle of Flodden Field. Nominal leader of the rebels who defeated the troops of his father James III at Sauchieburn in Jun 1488, who was treacherdly killed. He then was crowned king at Scone a few days later. A five year truce was made with Henry VII of England on 21 Dec 1491. After another invasion was attempted in 1495, he concluded another peace with in 1497, for 7 years. And a marriage was made with Henry's daughter Margaret at Holyrood in Aug 1503/

In love with Margaret Drummond of Stobshall when a proposal was made to him for a marriage to Margaret Tudor, daughter of Henry VII. Drummond was poinsoned.

He invaded northern England and was engaged in the Battle of Flodden Field at the foot of Brankston Hill on 9 Sep 1513. He and his troops slid down a steep slope in disarray and were picked off by the English.
