Inventory taken by two parishioners: Thomas Palmer and Lawrence Seley: 259 pounds 14 shillings 8pence, including 13 pounds of silver plate and an equal sum of books. He left 2 silver spoons to each of his children. Signed a Chillington bishop's transcript in 1599 as curate there. Chillington is 3 miles NE of Chaffcombe. Ordained priest 28 Sep 1600 by the Bishop of Bath and Wells. Licensed as curate of Kingstone, Somerset, 2 miles north of Chillington 13 Oct 1601. Rector of Chaffcombe, Somersetshire, England 4 Feb 1609/1610. Of Chaffcombe Somersetshire, England. Chaffcombe is 2 miles NE of Chard. The rectory was described as a mansion, barn and stable with three little gardens. By 1835 it was described as unlivable. Farmhouse until 1900. Built of stone with a thatched roof.
