and Carbye; poore folk of Cambridge and of ?irby and Little Bytham;..
Sonne Mr. Doctor Larkyn my Sonne Sherwood and to mye daughter his wief to my
sonne Lawghton and to my daughter his wief to Mr. Lively and his wier;..Jane
my wief;...Mr. John Coper my nephew;...to all my daughter Larkyns daughters at
their marriages or at one and Twentye;...And to Mrs. Lively and to everyone of
her children at their marriages;...each on of my daughter sherwoods children

All my landes to John Hatcher the eldest sonne of my sonne Thomas Tatcher late
of Carby in the said countie of Lincoln and the heires male of his body lawfully
begotten and for defaulte of suche issue...unto his next brother Henry Hatcher
and to the heires males of his body lawfully begotten And for defautle of suche
issue to William Hatcher his youngest brother...if no heires males of their bodies
all landes...in Lincoln and also my house called the Augustine friars in Cambridge
shall come and remaine to John Hatcher the eldest sonne of my late borther John
Hatcher of Croydon in the country of Surrey unto the heires males of his body
lawfully begotten...And for defaulte of such issue... to Henry Hatcher brother
of the said John Hatcher and to the heires of his body lawfully begotten And
...for wante of suche issue...to my next heires for ever;...mannors...within
the county of Cambridge (except the scite and circute of the late Augustine firars
wherein I now dwell)...shall come... to the next heires of my daughter Katherine
Larkin deceased and to Elizabeth Sherwood and mary Laughton my daughters na dfrom
them to their heires...John Henry and William Hatdher sonnes ofmy sonne Thomas
Hatcher deceased And for defaulte of issue males of my brothers sonnes John Hatcher
and Henrye Hatcher aforesaide...shall come remaine and be to the Channcelors
masters and Scollers of the universitie of Cambridge and their successors for
ever uppon this condicon...and then my said house late Augustine Friars shalbe
called Hatchers Hall...

...Jane my wief; And all suche goods as remaineth in ?toutham House...
Item I give and bequeath unto Hery Hatcher bacchelor of artes my kinsman besides
the guiftes or legacies to him given in said last will or testament fourtie shillinges
of lawfull money...yerely to him to be paid duringe so lone time as he shall
remaine in St. Johns College in Cambridge;
Item I give to doctor Bettes of Trinitie Hall in Cambridge a bowle pencell guilte
which remaineth in my buttrie...to Mr. ...Mordannt of ?Thunderley...to my servannt
Alice Munday and her assignes a lease for fifteene yeares of the house...which
one Richard Borne had in lease in as ample manner as John Archer and one...Mr.
John Harris now have and do occupie the same which said leasse for fiteene yeres...And
that the said Alice shall pay duringe the said fifteene yeares yearly the rente
of ffoure markes...

Memorandum ( 2 Feb 1586) in an upper chamber over the Hall within the mansion
House of John Hatcher of Cambridge...Esquier and doctor of Phisicke the saide
John Hatcher did bringe fourthe before us whose names be subscribed five sheates
of paper written...which ...subscription and sealle the said John Hatcher then
and there acknowledged and affirmed to be his sealle and his last will and testament;...

Certayne thinges which Mr. Dr. HAtcher after the writing of his will..of his
sicknes willed by word of mouth which diverse hearin gat divers times canne testifie...
Memorand: Mr. Dr. Hatcher...in his sickness wherof he did declare his will and
intent to be that Mr. Lively...should have his porcon amended and that he shoule
speak unto Mr. Cowper that it should be in the puce of Henry Hatcher and Robert
Curdd item at an other time he willed the said Henry Hatcher to declare unto
Mr. Cowper the same to be his will concerning the betterin of Mr. Livelies allowance...that
his servantes should be kept together with Mr. Livelye one of his executors and
his Household and Mr. Hatcher at his changes by the space of six months after
his death...
Item whereas he had given to hsi kinsman Henry Hatcher one annuitie of four pounds
and an other annuitie of xls yearly if he should continue in St. Johns College
by his will his intent and meaning was now soe long as he should continue in
any College he should enjoy the said annuities
Item the same day being the xi March he willed that said Robert Curdd his man
should have a lease of xv yeares in his house in Saint Edwardes pishe in Cambridge
wherein one Sreevill now dwellethe and for the yearly of fourtie shillinges.

had his estate probated on 9 May 1587 in Cambridge, ?, England..2963 He died about 1587 in St. Edwards Parish, , England.
Baptised Thomas John but always called John, even in his father's will. He
also had a brother John. Elder and younger John. He was an MD from St. Johns
College, Cambridge in 1554. Professor of Physic (medicine). Vice Chancelllor
after 1579. Purchased Careby properties. Attended Great St. Mary's Church in
Cambridge and donated the tower clock. Initials carve on the archway over the
south door of the church. Dr. Thomas* John HATCHER and Alice* GREENE were married
